AS I WAS WORKING ON IT, I knew Don’t Look Down would be the last song I would make, at least as Spektrem.

By this time I was living in LA, in a house in the Hollywood Hills with 6 of my closest friends. It was a dream. We lived around the corner from Calvin Harris and Travis Scott, just above the Sunset Strip.

But I could feel it was time for me to express myself in other ways. After finishing “Don’t Look Down”, I left the magnificent house in the Hollywood Hills to live in the run-down den of a friend’s apartment in Washington DC to work in the world of politics.

I didn’t understand fully at the time, but I was just shifting my work to creative projects that were much the same as producing music, just through a different medium.

SOME PEOPLE THINK “Don’t Look Down” is a sad song, but I never viewed it that way. It’s more about finding your path, which isn’t always fun and easy. But it leads to joyous moments. You just need to have faith, just keep going.

THE ALBUM ART was originally done by one of my favorite designers, Stijn Van Hapert. A few years later, I modified it with an extra splash of color.
